Speech #430111059

The Committee on Appropriations. to whom was referred the petition of John James Flournoy. a citize of Georgia. praying for an appropiation of money to aid such colored persons as may desire to emigrate to Liberia. have had the same tnder consideration and ask to be discharged from its futher consideration. The committee is a little in doubt as to what committee the matter would properly belong. It has been suggested that it belongs to the Committee on Finance or the Committee oi PostOffices and PostRoads. and it may be that it shosld go to the Committee on Privileges and Elections. We are uncertain about it. At any rate we ask to be discharged.
