I believe. the only continental nation that owns a line of steamers running directly to this country. The country has a splendid financial credit. with a large commercial marine. with greater exports. a larger telegraphic correspondence. and greater territorial area. and more international inlusence than either Italy or Spain. The immigration from Sweden and Norway is larger than fromn any other country on the continent of Europe. excepting Germany. and is gradually increasing. They send to us more and a better class of immigrants every year than have come from Spain. Italy. Turkey.
